Juventus Nears Agreement for Sorloth as Vlahovic Departure Approaches

Juventus have moved decisively for Alexander Sorloth and now stand just one agreement away from landing their new No. 9.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport both report that the Bianconeri have reached a full agreement with the Norway international on personal terms, leaving Atletico Madrid as the final obstacle before the deal can be sealed.

Contract locked in, clock ticking

Sorloth has accepted a contract worth €4m per season, running until 2029 with an option to extend to 2030. For Juventus, it is a long-term bet on a proven, physically imposing centre-forward to anchor their next attacking cycle.

The urgency is clear. The club want everything wrapped up before the World Cup kicks off, with Norway set to make their tournament debut against Iraq on June 17 (CET). The plan is straightforward: secure a deal with Atletico in time, then send a Juventus representative to the USA to oversee Sorloth’s medical tests and complete the move.

Atletico’s price tag vs Juve’s strategy

Atletico Madrid are ready to sell. They have put a price on Sorloth in the region of €30m–35m, a figure shaped not only by his form in Spain but also by interest coming from the Premier League.

Juventus, though, are pushing to drive that number down. Their target is below €30m, and they believe there is room to manoeuvre. Confidence in Turin is high that an agreement with the Colchoneros will eventually be found, even if there is no handshake yet.

One possible lever sits within the same negotiation table. Nico Gonzalez, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano and has no intention of returning to Turin this summer, could influence the final figures. Juventus may be forced to grant Atletico a discount on the permanent purchase of the player, using that concession to soften the fee for Sorloth.

Life after Vlahovic

All of this unfolds against a major turning point in Juventus’ forward line. Dusan Vlahovic has decided to leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires in June, forcing the Bianconeri to rebuild their attack around a new focal point.

Sorloth fits that profile: an experienced, robust centre-forward, already tested at the top level and coming off strong performances with Atletico. His goals in LaLiga have not gone unnoticed, and his celebration in Madrid on November 29, 2025, after scoring Atletico’s second against Real Oviedo, felt like the mark of a striker fully at ease on a big stage.

Now Juventus want that presence in black and white.

The race is not about whether they can convince the player – that part is done. It is about whether they can beat the World Cup countdown, outmanoeuvre Premier League interest, and bend Atletico’s demands just enough to bring their next No. 9 to Turin in time.
